For more than six years, the precious Samoyed has captured the hearts of visitors both in-store and online. She has a growing following on social media and fans often stop by the store just to shake her paw.

Coconut has grown so popular that San Diego Hardware’s website has added free coloring pages honoring Coconut, fun facts about the Samoyed breed, and a list of Coconut’s likes and dislikes. The store even sells Coconut’s favorite dog toys!

SAN DIEGO HARDWARE’S SHOP DOG “COCONUT” PREPARES FOR NATIONAL DOG DAY, STORE LAUNCHES “COCONUT’S CORNER”

SAN DIEGO, Calif., August 2, 2023 — San Diego Hardware is preparing for National Dog Day (Aug. 26) by announcing the “official” story of its shop dog and customer greeter “Coconut.” For more than six years, the lively Samoyed has been a presence at the esteemed family-owned local business, entertaining guests and asking patrons for pets. Coconut has captured the hearts of visitors not only at the retail location but also online and on the San Diego Hardware Instagram account, drawing attention to the 131-year-old establishment like never before. In honor of Coconut and the upcoming National Dog Day on August 26, San Diego Hardware has launched Coconut’s Corner online with an array of Coconut-approved decorative hardware, dog collars, wag-worthy pet bowls, dog beach-day kits, and unique dog toys.

“Everyone loves Coconut,” said San Diego Hardware family member, Manager and Coconut’s “Dog Mom” Hannah Haynsworth. “She’s practically the store mascot, and she’s bringing in many new shoppers and families from our community who want to meet her and shake her paw.”

In honor of the sweet canine, San Diego Hardware added an About Coconut Webpage to its website. The section features a photo gallery of funny Coconut photos, free coloring pages in her likeness, fun facts about the Samoyed breed and a list of Coconut’s likes and dislikes.
